Mr. Bowling in the LeComte

I've actually never seen him run, but I suspect this colt could have a bright future. Larry Jones trainees often take a while to peak. (Think Eight Belles and Friesan Fire.) Mr. Bowling won the Dover in his 3rd start, and ran 3rd in the Iroquois in his 4th. That was at the end of October, and he's been away since. Although his Beyers don't impress, he's off to a solid start to his career and has done little wrong.

Has anyone else noticed that Chalybeate Springs, who should go off at a long price in the race, opened his career with six straight 5ths? That included three graded stakes. He was 5th in the graded stakes, and 5th in the maiden special weights. Weird. I guess Lukas sees something in him, and while he's no Larry Jones, once in a while his horses do wake up with more racing, too. But 5th for Chalybeate Springs in here would be a very positive result, given how overmatched he looks.
